Silberra u400 | Canon AE-1 Program

Awhile back I declared Silberra u400 my favorite film after shooting a roll through my Rollei 35. I loaded another roll, this time in the Canon AE-1 Program. My opinion regarding this film is unchanged

We’ve had incredibly bright days. Where is the rain? The 400 speed film works better when it is a bit dark. Maybe overcast? Maybe after some rain? That’s what I had anticipated when I loaded the camera. It’s Seattle! It’s November!

Anyway, the following were shot over Thanksgiving break (the last week of November for those living in turkey free zones).

Week Eight

August 3 to August 9, 2019

Some historic sites this week.

On Saturday I visited the Thorp School; build in 1936 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Monday, I was downtown and shot the Smith Tower from the base. The iconic landmark has been photographed thousands of times. I don’t recall seeing one from this angle.

The balance of the shots took advantage of Seattle’s sublime August light. With wildfire smoke the last two years marring our skyline and choking our lungs, this year has been a nice and welcome surprise.
