The access road is a ways past Monroe, near milepost 41 and across the street from a store that has been selling conveniences for, well, probably since miners and loggers were making their way into these hills. Up the rutted and pitted road to its end and after two plus miles of fairly gentle hiking, one finds Barclay Lake.
